  Los días 23 y 24 de noviembre de 2023 se celebró el VI Congreso Internacional de Género Fantástico, Audiovisuales y Nuevas Tecnologías en el Centro de Congresos del municipio de Elche (Alicante, España), en formato presencial, y en formato online a través de su propia plataforma web. Una actividad de divulgación científica y académica, integrada en el Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Elche – FANTAELX, y elaborada en colaboración con la Universidad Miguel Hernández, cuyo principal objetivo es la difusión de los estudios de investigación en las diferentes áreas del Género Fantástico.

  Narrativas digitales en la creación gráfica contemporánea en [Ponencia] I Jornada de Grabado - La obra gráfica en los territorios actuales

  En las últimas décadas se viene produciendo un proceso de actualización en el arte gráfico contemporáneo, impulsado no solo por nuevas técnicas y tecnologías sino también por una concepción más interdisciplinar, sin etiquetas, que responde a las necesidades expresivas de nuestro tiempo. Inmersos en plena vorágine digital, algunos artistas han comenzado a incorporar tecnologías que permiten la obtención de una superficie de estampación sobre la matriz generada a partir del soporte fotográfico de una imagen o un archivo digital. Esto amplía indudablemente el campo de actuación del artista tanto en la concepción de la obra, como en su factura al agilizar los procesos manuales. Las tecnologías digitales ponen a disposición del artista nuevas herramientas y estrategias de trabajo, aumentando las variables que ayudan a adecuarse a los discursos y narrativas en el mundo contemporáneo.

  Overcoming Linguistic, Social, and Cultural Barriers Abroad: The Case of ELFSA. En [Ponencia] Conference on International Student Mobility: Connecting Research and Practice

  International Student Mobility (ISM) is a prominent aspect of the Internationalization in Higher Education (IHE). Scholarly research on ISM has particularly intensified over the last two decades, which led to a significant improvement in our scientific understanding of the determinants, experiences, and outcomes of ISM. However, surprisingly little connection and exchange exist among researchers across different disciplines, as well as between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, despite the relevance that scientific knowledge on ISM has for policy and daily practice. The ENIS network, funded by the COST Association, aims to stimulate a more systematic interdisciplinary and international exchange of knowledge on theoretical frameworks, research methodologies, findings, and best practice examples, and for translating scientific findings into recommendations for ISM practice.

  In our first Action conference, we will present four thematic reviews on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on ISM flows, social inequalities, the social and cultural integration of students, and labor market outcomes. Next to these general presentations, 30 contributions from scholars and practitioners from different fields and geographical contexts will be presented in five thematic sessions, aiming to stimulate comparative discussions and practical insights into ISM dynamics by bringing fragmented knowledge together, with the main aim of generating new interdisciplinary and innovative empirical perspectives on the phenomenon and translating these into tangible recommendations for stakeholders.

  Serious games y gamificación como oportunidad dentro de los videojuegos en [Ponencia] II Jornadas de Videojuegos y Creación Digital de Navarra

  El objetivo de esta charla es mostrar las posibilidades que dan el diseño de videojuegos dentro de otros ámbitos más allá del lúdico. Se mostrarán tipologías, ejemplos y las oportunidades que existen a través de los videojuegos serios y gamificación para las empresas de Navarra de distintos ámbitos industriales.

  La charla está enfocada para todas aquellas personas que crean que los videojuegos tienen un potencial más allá del ocio y tiempo libre.

  Of his Hands: The Sargent Memorial at St. Paul’s Cathedral.” A Portrait of the Artist as a Memorialised Man: Sculpture at St Paul’s Cathedral, c.1796–1916

  To celebrate the forthcoming publication of Simon Carter’s Artists’ Corner of St Paul’s Cathedral (February 2023), the third and final Pantheons conference takes place on 12th December. Simon Carter is the Head of Collections at St Paul's Cathedral.

  The conference takes the form of a symposium. Five scholars will speak for five minutes each about a monument to a famous artist or architect commemorated in the Cathedral.

  The people commemorated include the influential industrial architect John Rennie, children’s book illustrator Randolph Caldecott and Royal Academy painters J.M.W. Turner, Frederic Leighton, and John Singer Sargent.

  Following the roundtable, there will be an opportunity to visit the monuments and the remainder of Artists’ Corner in the Cathedral Crypt. Tea and coffee will be provided.

  Sourcing the Madonna of Sorrows: Painting, Sculpture and Sargent’s Spanish Photographs.” New Interpretations of Sargent’s Murals at Boston Public Library. Conference series

  Chloe Sharpe introduced by Richard Ormond Sargent’s Madonna of Sorrows, installed in 1916, was the culmination of over twenty years of research into Spanish religious iconography for the Boston Library murals. The painter’s fascination with the spiritual power and rich materiality of Spanish art led him to amass a significant collection of photographs of sculptures, which has only recently been rediscovered in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The lecture explores the significance of these and other sources for interpreting the murals’ meanings.

  Pasiones Religiosas: Sargent, Sorolla y la Escultura Española.” Tormento y Reflexión, Jornada científica en torno a Sorolla y la pintura religiosa, Museo Sorolla.

  Conferencia a cargo de la Dra. Chloe Sharpe. Profesora de Historia del Arte en Schiller International University y UDIT. La conferencia forma parte de "Tormento y reflexión. Jornada científica en torno a Sorolla y la pintura religiosa", en la que se profundiza en el estudio de la producción de cuadros de asunto religioso de Joaquín Sorolla y se repasa el papel que desempeñó la pintura religiosa en el último cuarto del siglo XIX a través de la figura de Joaquín Sorolla y sus contemporáneos. La jornada tuvo lugar el 1 de diciembre de 2021 en el auditorio de la Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson en Madrid. Organizada por el Museo Sorolla y la Fundación Museo Sorolla en el marco de la exposición temporal "Sorolla. Tormento y devoción", contó con la colaboración especial de la Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson y con el apoyo del Grupo Complutense de Investigación SU+MA.
