Description
I have undertaken extensive work on the phenomenology of emptiness, culminating in a typological catalogue with twenty variations of void applied in works of international architecture. This research studies how volumetric subtractions affect the geometric rigidity of existing planes and generate new perceptions, new movements, and new conditions of luminous comfort for the user, transforming emptiness into the very substance of the project. As Luigi Moretti once said, “The substance of architecture is the volumetric space it contains.” At this point, emptiness is projected, modeled, and sculpted with the same precision as the creation of the built mass.
