La Fuente de Mimir es el nombre que se le ha dado a este Trabajo de Final de Grado, ¿la razón? Bien como se explicará más adelante la temática de este trabajo es mitológica e histórica, y el nombre hace referencia a la mitología nórdica, más en concreto al sabio Mimir y a su fuente de sabiduría. Mimir era el consejero de los dioses y tenía una fuente cuyas aguas emanaban de las raíces de Yggdrasil y otorgaban sabiduría a quienes bebían de ellas; en una ocasión Odín quiso beber de estas pero Mimir se lo negó, teniendo que ofrecer su ojo a cambio de poder beber de dichas aguas. ¿Cómo se relaciona esto con el trabajo en sí? La idea es realizar una colección de tres libros sobre mitología y civilizaciones antiguas explicadas de forma sencilla y con gusto gráfico; de forma teórica serían la griega, la egipcia y la nórdica, pero la que se llevaría a desarrollo sería únicamente la nórdica. Una vez explicado se puede ver como se crea una analogía entre la historia antes contada y el nombre del proyecto, dónde la colección de libros haría las veces de fuente, y los contenidos de estos, de la “sabiduría” que esta otorgaba.

Para dichos contenidos se ha recopilado la información conocida, puesto que se tenía gran conocimiento del tema antes de la investigación, y se ha completado con algunas fuentes, entre las que destacar libros y páginas web. Por otro lado para saber como hacer el libro y que cumpla los objetivos mencionados se elaboró un estudio de la competencia y en como esta resuelve sus productos, para poder comparar e identificar puntos fuertes y débiles, y solucionar posibles fallos. Tras realizar un análisis del producto y del mercado se ha llegado a la conclusión de que lo que se plantea puede llegar a suplir y solucionar carencias que el sector de libros de carácter mito- lógico/histórico tienen, aportando un producto con mucho más gusto por lo estético y con explicaciones mucho más simples y fáciles de recordar para temas que suelen traer muchos datos y nombres complejos, al tener su origen en lenguas antiguas algunas ya muertas.

Mimir’s Fountain is the name given to this Final Degree Project, the reason? As will be explained later, the theme of this work is mythological and historical, and the name refers to Norse mytho- logy, more specifically to the wise Mimir and his source of wisdom.

Mimir was the counselor of the gods and had a fountain whose waters emanated from the roots of Yggdrasil and gave wisdom to those who drank from them; on one occasion Odin wanted to drink from these but Mimir denied him, having to offer his eye in exchange for being able to drink from said waters. How does this relate to the work itself? The idea is to make a collection of three books on the mythology and ancient civilizations explained in a simple way and with graphic tas- te; theoretically they would be the Greek, the Egyptian and the Nordic, but the one that would be developed would be only the Nordic. Once explained, you can see how an analogy is created between the story told above and the name of the project, where the collection of books would serve as a source, and their contents, of the “wisdom” that it provided. For these contents, the known information has been compiled, since there was great knowledge of the subject before the investigation, and it has been completed with some sources, among which books and web pages stand out. On the other hand, to know how to make the book and that it meets the aforementioned objectives, a study of the competition was carried out and how it solves its products, in order to compare and identify strong and weak points, and solve possible failures. After carrying out an analysis of the product and the market, the conclusion has been reached that what is proposed can supply and solve deficiencies that the mythological/historical book sector has, providing a product with much more taste for aesthetics. and with much simpler and easier to remember explanations for topics that usually bring a lot of data and complex names, having their origin in ancient languages, some of them already dead.
