En este trabajo se ha rediseñado la identidad de la UD Las Palmas, club de fútbol de Segunda División. Se ha investigado cual es el papel del diseño en el fútbol y que importancia le dan los clubes. También se ha profundizado en el origen del fútbol en Gran Canaria, y la historia de la UD Las Palmas, para poder comprender mejor qué es la UD Las Palmas y que la hace especial. Estos aprendizajes se han plasmado en la identidad, tanto verbal como visual, trasladando a la marca el sentimiento de unión y pertenencia hacia la isla de Gran Canaria. A diferencia de la mayoría de los clubes de fútbol donde el diseño es, en general, algo secundario y cuya finalidad suele ser llamar la atención con colores vibrantes y tipografías impactantes, esta identidad tiene un concepto en el que se apoya, los dos pilares de la UD Las Palmas, la unión y su isla. Se huye de colores vibrantes, otorgándole espacio al blanco, creando una identidad minimalista y limpia.

In this project the identity of UD Las Palmas, a Second Division football club, has been redesigned. The objective was to investigate what the role of design is in football and how important this is for the clubs. It has also delved into the origin of football on the Grand Canary Island, and especially into the history of UD Las Palmas, in order to understand better what UD Las Palmas exactly is and what makes it such a special club. These learnings have been reflected in the identity, both verbal and visual, transferring to the brand the feeling of union and belonging to the Grand Canary Island. Unlike most football clubs where design is usually something secondary, and whose purpose is usually to attract attention with vibrant colors and striking fonts, this identity has a concept which is based on the two pillars of UD Las Palmas, the union and its island. Vibrant colors are avoided, giving space to white, creating a minimalist and clean identity.
