Peer Review Process

Ludos International Journal of Games Studies applies a double-blind peer-review system. All manuscripts received undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal's aims and scope and to verify compliance with its formal and ethical publication requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent to at least two experts in the relevant subject area, preferably external to the publishing institution. Reviewers assess, among other aspects, the originality and relevance of the research, the strength of the theoretical framework, methodological appropriateness, the quality of the analysis and discussion, the scientific contribution and compliance with principles of research integrity.

In cases of substantial disagreement between reviewers, the editorial team may request an additional review. Reviewers may recommend acceptance, acceptance subject to revisions, further peer review or rejection.

When revisions are requested, authors must respond to the reviewers' comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. Further rounds of review may be conducted when necessary to ensure the scientific quality of the publication.

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the editorial team of Ludos International Journal of Games Studies, taking into account the reviewers' reports and the journal's scientific and editorial criteria.

The estimated review period is a maximum of four months, subject to reviewer availability and the characteristics of each manuscript.
