ETHICS DECLARATION GDI. Revista de investigación de Género, Diseño e Innovación

Based on the recommendations of ELSEVIER and the code of good practices defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for editors of scientific journals:

  • Responsibilities of the authors. Texts submitted for publication must be the result of original and unpublished research. Plagiarism in all its forms, multiple publication, and fabrication or manipulation of data constitute serious ethical violations and are considered fraud.
  • Responsibilities of the editors. The editorial team is required to maintain confidentiality regarding the texts received and their content.
  • Publication decision. All contributions will be initially reviewed by the Editorial Team. Each document deemed suitable is sent to two reviewers to evaluate the article.
  • Review of works. Reviewed articles are treated confidentially by the editorial team and reviewers.
  • Identification and prevention of misconduct. The Editorial Team will consider removing a publication in the event of misconduct.
  • Reviewer Responsibilities. All reviewers must be familiar with and comply with the journal's editorial policy and statement on ethics and publishing malpractice.
  • Conflict of interest. The editorial team and reviewers will abstain from participating in any conflict of interest, with the exception of issue 1 of the journal.

Furthermore, the Journal of Research on Gender, Design, and Innovation (GDI) formally adheres to the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). As part of our commitment to quality, fairness, and transparency in scientific assessment, we adopt the following guidelines in our editorial policies:

  • Content-Based Assessment: We evaluate scientific manuscripts based on their quality, scientific rigor, originality, and the intrinsic impact of the research. We avoid using journal-based metrics (such as the Impact Factor) as a sole surrogate measure to evaluate the quality of an individual article or to make publication decisions.
  • Promotion of Article-Level Metrics: We encourage the use of a variety of article-level metrics (such as downloads, views, and citations) to better understand the actual reach and impact of each published scientific contribution.
  • Transparency in Authorship: We promote transparent practices in attributing authorship and acknowledging the specific contributions of each researcher in published works.

With this endorsement, GDI joins the global scientific community's efforts to transform the culture of research assessment and ensure a more equitable and ethical framework for the dissemination of science.

Author Publication Charges (APCs)

Submitting original manuscripts to the journal does NOT entail any financial charge for the authors. Similarly, neither the peer-review process nor the final publication of the work will involve any cost to the author, nor will there be any remuneration for the external reviewers.


Who Can Submit?

Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in GDI. Revista de investigación de Género, Diseño e Innovación provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).

General Submission Rules

Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to GDI. Revista de investigación de Género, Diseño e Innovación, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at GDI. Formatting Requirements

GDI. Revista de investigación de Género, Diseño e Innovación has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.

It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.

Open Access Policy. Authors' Rights and ÁGORA CREATIVA

GDI. Journal of Gender, Design and Innovation provides free and unrestricted access to all its contents in order to facilitate public access to research and promote the global exchange of knowledge. The journal adheres to the recommendations set out in Article 37 of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation Act concerning the dissemination of research through Open Access. Accordingly, authors retain the non-exclusive right to use their contributions for academic and educational purposes, including self-archiving in Open Access repositories.

Authors retain the copyright to their works while granting the journal the right of first publication. Furthermore, all articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) License, which allows others to:

  1. Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, provided that the terms of the license are respected.
  2. Attribution: give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes have been made. Attribution must be provided in an appropriate manner that does not suggest endorsement by the journal or the authors.
  3. NonCommercial: not use the material for commercial purposes.
  4. NoDerivatives: not modify, transform, adapt, or create derivative works based on the original material.
  5. No Additional Restrictions: not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

All articles published in GDI. Journal of Gender, Design and Innovation will be deposited in the ÁGORA CREATIVA Institutional Repository to ensure their long-term preservation, accessibility, discoverability, consultation, and dissemination as part of the journal's scholarly and academic output. This deposit enhances the visibility of published works, facilitates their discovery by the research community, and guarantees the long-term preservation of the journal's editorial content, while fully respecting the principles of academic integrity, editorial transparency, copyright, and best practices in scholarly communication.

General Terms and Conditions of Use

Users of the ÁGORA CREATIVA website and/or software agree not to misuse the ÁGORA CREATIVA service or software in any way.

The failure of ÁGORA CREATIVA to exercise or enforce any right or provision in the policies or the Submission Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any term of the Submission Agreement or these policies is found to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Submission Agreement and these policies remain in full force and effect. These policies and the Submission Agreement constitute the entire agreement between ÁGORA CREATIVA and the Author(s) regarding submission of the Article.
