Description
This project originates from a reflection on the emotional relationship that many people maintain with the sea and on how contemporary urban life, characterised by speed, density, and a disconnection from natural rhythms, tends to distance us from the feelings of calm, contemplation, and freedom that it evokes. From this premise, the intervention proposes to symbolically bring the maritime experience into the Casa del Marqués de Villora, reinterpreting the house as a space capable of restoring this emotional connection through architecture. The initial question that gave rise to the project was both simple and radical: what would happen if the house were filled with water? Rather than seeking a literal answer, this question became a conceptual tool through which to explore new ways of introducing the sea into the building. From this idea emerged the decision to transform the former residence into a remote-controlled boat club, a programme that functions as a mechanism for reconnecting users with the maritime imaginary while incorporating water as the central element of the spatial experience. The proposal seeks to interpret the physical, emotional, and cultural values of the sea through three concepts that structure both the narrative and the spatial organisation of the project: the shared sea, the recreated sea, and the remembered sea. These three dimensions represent different ways of experiencing the sea and are distributed throughout the house, generating a sequence of spaces with distinct identities that remain closely interconnected
