Este proyecto surge como respuesta a la evidente carencia de representación y dedicación al género R&B1 en la escena musical británica. A diferencia de Estados Unidos, donde los festivales dedicados al R&B son abundantes, en el Reino Unido no hay festivales exclusivamente centrados en este género musical. Esta situación refleja la tendencia de mezclar el R&B con otros estilos en festivales, como se destaca en la revisión de festivales de R&B en el Reino Unido. Skiddle (2022). Por ello, la propuesta de SolarBlue Festival busca llenar este vacío y desafiar la escena musical británica, planteándose como una plataforma única para dar visibilidad a los artistas locales, proporcionando un espacio exclusivo donde pueda brillar sin ser eclipsado por otros estilos.

This project arises as a response to the evident lack of representation and dedication to the R&B genre in the British music scene. Unlike the United States, where festivals dedicated to R&B are plentiful, in the United Kingdom there are no festivals exclusively focused on this musical genre. This situation reflects the trend of mixing R&B with other styles at festivals, as highlighted in the review of R&B festivals in the UK. Skiddle (2022). For this reason, the SolarBlue Festival proposal seeks to fill this void and challenge the British music scene, posing itself as a unique platform to give visibility to local artists, providing an exclusive space where they can shine without being overshadowed by other styles.
