“So New York” is an interactive documentary book about the rap scene in the 90’s. It is a visual overview experimenting with photography and typography to build an updated view of the essence of this decade. It includes innovative technology that allows the reader to interact musically with the book itself. It is therefore transformed into a tactile editorial piece. By including all kinds of rappers, products and photographs, the book bases the movement and style of each of those artists. The aim is to expand and increase awareness on the rebirth of the hip hop culture in the 1990’s. The book is addressed to an audience that is interested in the urban culture and the arts at large. Besides, it is also addressed to those who like to research and contemplate a graphic piece. The book serves as a collector’s item, which makes it a perfect coffee-table book.
